How To Identify Mice

These mice are quite small at only four to six inches, including their tails. They are a dusty grey color, but their bellies are a cream color. Their bodies are round, and they have pointed muzzles. They can look rather cute to some people as they have big ears and eyes in proportion to their faces.

The Dangers Of Mice In McAllen

Mice might be rather small, but this shouldn't put you off guard. House mice are extremely dangerous because they can carry different illnesses such as rat-bite fever and salmonella. They are also known to cause respiratory problems from the buildup of feces, urine, and fur around a home. These problems include allergic reactions, asthma attacks, and hantavirus.

Unfortunately, mice are great at living alongside humans. They are rather dependent on us for their survival, and they can live inside all kinds of buildings. These mice use our homes and businesses for shelter and access to food and water, which means they are more likely to get inside than your average pest, and once there, they can make you and others in your household sick.

Reasons Why Mice Are So Difficult To Deter

There are quite a few reasons why mice can be so difficult to deter. The first is that they breed rapidly. Just one female mouse can have a half dozen or so babies every few weeks, so an infestation can grow exponentially.

Second, mice are able to adapt to different conditions. They can survive on just small crumbs and consume many different food products such as meats, pet food, sweets, and more.

Lastly, mice are challenging to keep out because they can squeeze through hotels the size of a dime, making sealing up your home against them a real challenge. Also, mice can gnaw through many different materials, including drywall, plaster, pipes, electrical wires, and more. This activity allows them to create new ways into your home even if you think the walls and foundation are secure.

How To Protect Your Property From Mice

There are many risks to having mice around your home, family, and pets, so it's not worth it to try and remove them on your own. There are many ways people try to handle rodents using DIY measures, but these rarely work.
